Job summary

Constellium invites you to join its R&D team in Grenoble (Voreppe) for an internship focused on optimizing aerospace aluminium alloys through microstructure engineering. You will work on dispersoids control, thermomechanical routes, and building a microstructure database under supervision of two R&D engineers.

The role requires metallurgy basics, literature synthesis, experimental work, and collaboration within a multicultural team, with proficiency in English and French.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of metallurgy, aluminium alloys and metals processing and characterization methods.
• Ability to synthesize information and write reports.
• Ability to analyze and present results requiring various levels of technical detail.

Responsibilities

• Bibliographical survey
• Define best simulation routes at lab scale
• Follow the transformation of products at the lab-scale
• Characterize the microstructure through texture, microscopy observations and build a comprehensive database
• Analyze the data, use models and draw conclusions to propose methods to optimize processes
