Constellium is a world leader in aluminum products and offers a research internship in Microstructure Engineering and Mechanical Performance of Aluminium Alloys at the Grenoble C-TEC. You will join an R&D team focused on metallurgy and mechanics to study crystallographic texture and its impact on mechanical behavior.

The project includes training, literature review, XRD/EBSD analyses, building a numerical twin with Damask and FEM tools, and comparing simulations with experiments.

Qualifications

• Engineering student (last year) or Masters (M2) in Physics or Materials Science.
• Motivated, creative, rigorous, curious, with good communication skills and autonomous.
• Knowledge in Material science and eagerness to develop experimental skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good communication skills in English and French are essential.

Responsabilités

• Build a numerical twin of the microstructure to be used with Damask and FEM software (Marc).
• Handle existing numerical models for tensile and bending cases with potential minor changes.
• Study the impact of spatial arrangement on surface plasticity prediction and strain localization.
• Compare simulations with experiments to identify texture promoting enhanced performance.
• Analyze and synthesize results, write reports, and present findings to the team.
