Job summary

Constellium is offering an internship in R&D focused on damage evolution prototyping in aluminium thick plate. You will join the C-TEC center in Grenoble (Voreppe) and work on the coupling of ex situ tomography high temperature tensile tests with finite element modelling.

The project spans experimental trials, micro-CT imaging, and advanced FEM, with opportunities to develop digital twins, analyze porosity-damage relationships, and validate models against laboratory tests.

Qualifications

• Background in Materials Science, Mechanics, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for numerical simulation.
• Interest in experimental research activities, including data analysis and numerical data processing.
• Basic programming skills in Python.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Set up a digital twin of a hot tensile test at the local scale.
• Quantify porosity and damage fields and compare with DVC results.
