Context

FORVIA has engaged in a major breakthrough to improve its competitiveness in a world with increasing technological and operational complexity.

In that context, the Group R&D function has been created to foster cross-fertilization of existing initiatives and identify new levers to reach the next level of efficiency. Group R&D works closely with the Group CTO (Chief Technology Office), which focuses on future technologies.

Group R&D’s actions are divided into 3 workstreams:

  1. Lean Organization: Increase cooperation and optimize hourly rate & structure costs.
  2. Lean Design: Share best practices and lower the efforts needed to develop our products.
  3. Engaged Talents: Support and develop the R&D community to prepare FORVIA’s R&D organization for the future.

Mission

Within the Group R&D function, FORVIA is revisiting its R&D processes based on appropriate performance KPIs, aiming to further improve its competitiveness.

The objective of the internship is to understand and review the merit of engineering digital tools & processes, compare them across business groups, and with off-the-shelf systems.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting dashboard consistency and convergence between business groups on process progress KPIs.
  • Participating in R&D process improvement activities to make them leaner.
  • Participating in R&D IT massification, reviewing digital toolbox and processes with business groups, benchmarking, and collaborating with BG engineering and GIT (Group Information Technology).
  • Confirming the Digital R&D roadmap and participating in its execution.
  • Monitoring the progress of R&D initiative deployment.
  • Supporting R&D network activities, including preparation of R&D events.

Place of work:

The job will be based at FORVIA Headquarters in Nanterre (rue des Champs Pierreux).

Reporting:

The intern will report to the Group R&D Director.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Fluency in English: working language will be English.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • An international mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (network animation).
  • Good analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, programming knowledge (Microsoft Office suite, Python, HTML, etc.).
