Description du poste

At Alice & Bob, we are building the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer that can solve the world's hardest problems using superconducting cat qubits.

Cat qubits have the astonishing ability to autonomously suppress certain types of errors and require significantly less hardware overhead compared to other technologies. This makes us a leader in the race towards a fault-tolerant quantum computer.

We have raised 30 million EUR in funding and currently have over 100 employees at our main facilities in Paris. Our team includes physicists, engineers, PhD students, and experienced business professionals, all working together to reach our ambitious goal. If you want to challenge yourself and participate in this race, apply today.

About the role:

As a Quantum Experimentalist at Alice & Bob, you'll drive the development of our cutting-edge cat-qubit processors. You'll apply your expertise in quantum mechanics and experimental physics to refine calibration, challenge designs, and optimize our quantum circuits. This role involves improving experimental setups and collaborating across teams to push the boundaries of the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure, characterize in-depth, and fine-tune quantum circuits and quantum gates.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis to improve theoretical models.
  • Drive new circuit designs and measurement methods from conception to experimental validation and integration in cat-qubit quantum processors.
  • Contribute to the improvement of experimental setups and tools.
  • Expand the knowledge base of Alice & Bob.
  • Report on experimental results internally and externally.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of practical experience conducting experiments in quantum mechanics, preferably in superconducting quantum circuits.
  • Hands-on experience with microwave control and measurement of superconducting quantum circuits.
  • Data analysis skills and ability to compare results with theory or simulations.
  • Knowledge of superconducting microwave resonators.
  • Advanced Python programming skills.
  • Proficiency in scientific writing using MS Office or LaTeX.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of quantum error correction protocols.
  • Strong curiosity and openness to new ideas.
  • Research skills, including literature review and testing new methods.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Benefits:

  • 25 days of vacation plus RTT (reduction of working time).
  • Partial coverage of transportation costs or a yearly bike allowance.
  • Competitive health benefits with Helium/AXA.
  • Meal vouchers via Swile and access to a fully equipped kitchen.
  • Parental benefits including crèche support.
  • Flexible remote work policy, up to 40% of the time.
  • Language courses paid for by the company.
  • Mental health support through moka.care.
  • Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club.

Recruitment Process:

  • Screening call with Grace, Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min).
  • Interview with the Hiring Manager, Felix (45 min).
  • Technical interview and presentation with Felix, Danielius, Emanuele, and Przemek (60 min).
  • Leadership team and fit interview (45 min).

Research shows that women might feel hesitant to apply if they don't meet 100% of the listed requirements. We encourage applications even if you are only a partial match. We aim to build innovative teams, not just check boxes.

You will join one of France's most innovative startups at an early stage, becoming part of a passionate and friendly team on its mission to build the first universal quantum computer!

We love sharing and learning from one another, so you will have the opportunity to innovate, develop new ideas, and grow professionally.
