Job summary

CMA CGM is seeking a Quality Health Safety and Environment Assistant in Marseille. You will support QHSSE compliance and coordinate safety initiatives within the group’s maritime operations.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, maritime exposure, and fluent English. You will assist with audits, document control, trainings, and travel coordination for SSE division, reporting to the SSE team in Marseille.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in maritime field preferred.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Experience as an assistant and in safety management preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong organization.

Responsibilities

• Comply with IMS and relevant rules and regulations.
• Ensure duties align with quality, health, safety, environmental, and ethics policies.
• Propose and report a continuous performance improvement plan.
• Conduct ship audits, head office and shore audits.
• Translate QHSSE documents between English and French.
• Organize QHSSE trainings and arrange travel for SSE Marine division.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Comply with IMS and all relevant international rules and regulations;
• Ensure all your duties in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies;
• Propose a continuous performance improvement plan which will be reported and reviewed on a periodical basis;
• Follow-up the following QHSSE-related matters:

• Ship audits and inspections;
• Head office and shore departments’ audits;
• Reports of Notification;
• Documents related to ship’s major accident;

• Maintain a record of all QHSSE-related documents (paper and/or electronic format) according to specific procedures (ISM, ISPS, MLC Codes and ISO certifications);
• Assist with other safety and security matters;
• Ensure the translation from English into French and inversely, of specialized QHSSE related documents;
• Organize QHSSE trainings (ISM – ISPS- ISO familiarizations) performed by the SSE Department;
• Make all travel arrangements for SSE Marine division and external auditors;
• Manage mailing.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• You ideally have a previous experience in maritime field.
• You are fluent in english both written and spoken.
• You ideally have a previous experience as assistant and in safety management. You already have worked on coordination of international travels.
• You are able to manage various tasks. You have strong computer and organizational skills.
• You are able to identify when it is necessary to change priorities.
