Job summary

NSG Group/Pilkington is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to maintain and improve the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949 and CSR. The role involves coordinating audits, leading audit responses, and mentoring teams in problem-solving across manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in compliance with IATF 16949, CSR, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits (internal audits, LPAs, customer and third-party certification audits).
• Lead audit responses and verify corrective actions.
• Support customer and supplier quality development and deployment of requirements.
• Assist with APQP, PPAP submissions and process validation activities.
• Train employees on quality systems and mentor cross-functional teams in problem-solving.

Job description

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in compliance with:
• IATF 16949
• Customer-Specific Requirements (CSR)
• Applicable regulatory and statutory requirements
• Develop, review, and control quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.
• Coordinate management review activities and monitor quality system performance metrics.
• Ensure document control processes are effective and compliant.

Internal & External Audits

• Plan, conduct, and coordinate:
• Internal audits
• Layered Process Audits (LPAs)
• Serve as primary contact during customer and third-party certification audits.
• Lead audit response activities and verify implementation of corrective actions.

Customer and Supplier Quality Support

• Assist with supplier quality system development and compliance activities.
• Review customer quality requirements and ensure deployment throughout the organization.

APQP and Launch Support

• Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
• PPAP submissions
• Process validation activities

Training and Development

• Train employees on quality system requirements and procedures.
• Develop awareness of quality standards throughout the organization.
• Mentor cross-functional teams in problem-solving and quality methodologies.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or other technically related fields plus two (2) years relevant experience or Associate's degree with minimum four (4) years relevant experience.
• Experience in maintaining an IATF 16949-certified Quality Management System
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate leadership ability and the ability to work within a team.
• Must be proficient in the use of business software such as Excel, Word, and MS-Outlook. Must have a demonstrated ability to apply inferential and deductive reasoning.

Qualifications Desired:

• Two years technical support experience in manufacturing
• Two years automotive manufacturing experience
• Lead Auditor Certification (IATF 16949 or ISO 9001)
• Training and experience in disciplined problem-solving techniques (Ex: 5-Why; 8-D; DMEAC)

Other Requirements:

• Ability to frequently walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and access all areas of a manufacturing facility.
• Ability to work in varying manufacturing environments, including exposure to heat, noise, dust, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and respond to operational or emergency situations as needed.
