Descrizione del lavoro

Our client is an established European space company developing advanced space systems. They work on programmes for major space agencies and build their hardware to ESA and NASA standards.

They are looking for a Quality Engineer to support the quality of flight hardware through manufacturing, assembly, integration and test. The hardware includes titanium and stainless-steel welded structures, life-support systems and propulsion. This is a full-time, hands-on role, starting on a contract basis with the option to move to a permanent position after a successful initial period. You will work closely with engineering, MAIT and suppliers to make sure hardware meets customer and agency requirements.

The successful candidate will have solid quality or product assurance experience on space projects, and a good working knowledge of EN/AS9100 and ECSS-Q standards. They will be comfortable running inspections, non-conformances and root cause analysis on flight hardware.

Key responsibilities:
  • Defining and running inspection and test plans, mandatory inspection points and test witnessing during assembly, integration and test
  • Reviewing and approving MAIT procedures, travellers and as-built records
  • Raising and managing non-conformances, supporting Non-Conformance Review Boards and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • Supporting supplier quality, including incoming and source inspections and supplier audits
  • Contributing to PA/QA plans, compliance matrices and quality deliverables for agency and customer programmes
  • Supporting design and test milestone reviews (CDR, QR, TRR, MRR) from a quality perspective
  • Controlling materials, parts, processes and configuration records together with engineering
  • Helping maintain the EN/AS9100 quality management system and supporting internal, customer and agency audits
What they're looking for:
  • Degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or materials engineering, or similar
  • Mid-career profile, typically 3–7 years in quality or product assurance
  • Experience on space projects, ideally on flight hardware
  • Working knowledge of EN/AS9100 or ISO 9001 and ECSS-Q standards
  • Hands-on experience with inspections, workmanship checks and non-conformance management
  • Fluent English and working French
  • Eligibility to work in France
Nice to have:
  • Experience on ESA or NASA programmes, including ECSS tailoring or NASA workmanship standards (NASA-STD-8739)
  • Quality experience with welded titanium or stainless-steel structures, life-support or propulsion hardware
  • Familiarity with NDT methods such as ultrasonic or eddy current testing
  • Experience in a New Space or fast-growing environment
  • Lead auditor (AS9100 / ISO 9001) or Six Sigma certification
What's on offer:
  • Full-time contract with the option to move to a permanent role after a successful initial period
  • Hands-on work on flight hardware for real space missions
  • An international team working across several European sites
  • Clear room to grow as the quality team scales
  • This role suits a mid-career space quality engineer who wants hands-on ownership of flight hardware quality on a high-profile European space programme.
