Summary Description
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the quality documentation system, using the Quality Management Software (QMS) programs to support Manufacturing processes, procedures, and associated support services.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Understanding and adhering to Document Control policies and procedures.
- Interacting closely with QA Technicians and the Manufacturing team to understand work center processes and document work instructions and other related quality documentation.
- Maintaining knowledge of the Nazareth manufacturing processes to create, update, maintain work instructions and references.
- Supporting new equipment implementation by working with Engineering to document procedures for the proper and safe use of new equipment.
- Working with the Navojoa, Mexico support team as needed to document new manufacturing processes developed in Nazareth that are to be transferred to Navojoa.
- Proactively maintain knowledge of new products and processes to ensure accurate and current quality documentation for use by the organization.
- Participating in Quality Assurance Audits and the Internal Audit Program to support the program and to understand and update work instructions and other related quality documentation as necessary.
- Supporting the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to understand and document new manufacturing processes as they relate to new product designs and update quality documentation as appropriate.
- Providing administrative support by tracking Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation dates, updating ECN documentation as needed, maintaining the Production Test Notice file, and maintaining Purchase Specifications of critical purchased materials.
- Assist QA Technicians as necessary in Product and Parts inspections, including random inspections of Navojoa products at the Distribution Center.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Within 18 months of start date, must successfully complete a certification program dictated by Department Management such as one ASQ certification, or industry recognized equivalent.
- Detail oriented, energetic, innovative, adaptable, and self-directed.
- Proficient speaking and writing skills, interpersonal/team building skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to maintain good working relationships throughout the organization.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Clear understanding of department operations, policies, and procedures, as well as the ability to effectively apply quality principles and tools.
- Have or develop working knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and practices.
- Positive outlook and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
