Qualifications

Recruitment Context

We’re hiring a Junior Python Developer to join and strengthenour Commando IT / Generative AI team! The team is responsible for driving cross-functional performance improvements by developing automation solutions and AI- enhanced applications that have a measurable impact on productivity and revenue generation.

You will report to Quentin Mangeant , Head of Corporate IT at iBanFirst. You will join the Commando AI team , a cross-functional task force composed of 1 Lead Python Developer and 2–3 interns/apprentices.

What will you do

You’ll participate in technical development and contribute hands-on across multiple projects with a measurable impact on internal productivity and business operations.

  • Develop and maintain solutions to improve performance of transversal business units
  • B ackend , frontend (in python, via Streamlit ) , infrastructure as code ( IaC ) and CI/CD development
  • Improve development processes while finding the right balance between rigor, speed and flexibility for software development & research organization
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain containerization and orchestration systems using tools like Docker
  • Document processes and procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting systems

You’ll work closely with stakeholders in the company (KYC, Sales, Product, Ops...) to build solutions for them , including :

  • Client onboarding automation
  • Lead generation from news sources
  • AI-enhanced tools for sales & hedging teams

Role Objectives

In the first 3 months , we expect you to:

  • Familiarize yourself with ongoing projects.
  • Understand our architecture and business use cases.
  • Start taking on development tasks and bug fixes with the support of the team.

Within 6 months :

  • Work collaboratively on at least one significant project, handling well-defined tasks and delivering reliable code.
  • Help keep documentation up to date, and share suggestions for improvements based on your experience as a new joiner.
  • Actively participate in stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions to understand and contribute to the team’s workflow.

After 12 months :

  • Confidently lead the development end-to-end of a long-term project while collaborating closely with team members as needed.
  • Play an active role in delivering monthly quick-win projects.
  • Show ownership by actively tracking and ensuring the resolution of bugs or issues in the systems you work on.
What do you bring
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Python Developer (clean, maintainable code expected)
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Hands-on with containerization tools (Docker)
  • Strong communication skills: can synthesize , explain tech clearly , and show value
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in a scale up environment (autonomous, reliable, and motivated by impact)
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus)

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of fintech and payment industry is a plus
  • Background in startups
  • Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI integrations
