Salary Range:$190,000 – $210,000

We are seeking an experiencedPython Developerto contribute to the development of advanced data processing applications in support of a mission-critical federal program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable Python-based services, developing APIs, and integrating with existing systems and open-source tools. The role requires experience with CI/CD automation, containerized deployments, and Agile software development practices, with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and cloud-readiness.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Chief Engineers and Technical Leads to translate functional requirements into technical user stories.
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable Python-based components and services to support data-intensive applications.
  • Develop and maintain web APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI to interface with cloud-native applications and databases.
  • Implement automated testing strategies using PyTest and mocking tools to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Integrate Python applications into Docker containers and deploy to AWS environments as part of a distributed architecture.
  • Utilize parallel data processing libraries such as PySpark, Pandas, and NumPy to enable efficient large-scale data transformations.
  • Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, reviews, and backlog grooming.
  • Guide technical design and support architecture decisions, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Interface with stakeholders and mission partners to clarify requirements and ensure technical alignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of professional experience with:
    • Python data processing using libraries such as PySpark, Pandas, and NumPy
    • API development with frameworks such as FastAPI
    • Unit testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest and mocking libraries)
  • Demonstrated experience developing containerized Python applications using Docker
  • Familiarity with cloud deployment processes, preferably in AWS environments
  • Proven track record of working in Agile teams and delivering iterative software capabilities
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Herndon/Chantilly, VA
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required at the time of application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python ORM tools such as SQLAlchemy
  • Experience deploying containerized Python code in cloud environments (e.g., AWS)
  • Familiarity with integrating NLP frameworks and toolkits into operational systems
  • Experience operationalizing AI/ML models using Python libraries and frameworks

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance is required for this role

Salary:
Salary for this position is determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific budget considerations.

Proposed Salary Range:$190,000 – $210,000
