A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRODUCTION & METHOD ENGINEER ROLE:

  • Champion of Safety and Compliance
    Each day begins with a strong focus on safety, hygiene, and environmental compliance. The Method & Production Engineer ensures that all site-wide and workstation-specific safety protocols are followed, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and hygiene standards to guarantee food quality and safety.
  • Driving Operational Excellence
    The engineer is responsible for achieving production targets related to safety, quality, hygiene, environment, quantity, and deadlines. This includes monitoring asset intensity and productivity metrics such as man-hours per ton and daily tonnage, while ensuring adherence to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) milestones.
  • TPM Deployment and Operator Autonomy
    A key part of the role involves deploying TPM tools and fostering operator autonomy in using them. The engineer builds and maintains the TPM roadmap, ensuring it is followed and updated regularly, and supports operators in mastering these tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving
    The Method & Production Engineer co-leads the continuous improvement roadmap, aligning factory goals with local pillar and committee objectives. They apply structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, Six Sigma) and lead improvement projects in quality, hygiene, and process efficiency.
  • Operational Leadership and Coaching
    Daily responsibilities include leading and coaching operational meetings, ensuring data accuracy, and tracking performance indicators. The engineer also acts as a backup to the area manager, reinforcing leadership presence and decision-making on the floor.
  • Expertise and Collaboration
    With a background in food or technical engineering and experience in team management, the engineer brings expertise in TPM, coaching, auditing, and change management. Proficiency in tools like SAP and Microsoft Office, along with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, supports effective collaboration across teams and functions.

  • You have prior career experience in Operations (2-3 years ideally).
  • You demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn.
  • You have excellent communication skills and you are able to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
  • You are willing to interact with people at all levels in the organization, from the shopfloor to European Management team.
  • Your team spirit, international mobility and open-mindedness will be highly appreciated!
  • Your English is fluent, plus one other European language preferable.
