Job Description: Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to oversee the procurement of plant materials and related supplies for our company and distribution centers. The role involves collaborating with growers, managing logistics, and ensuring quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee procurement of plant materials and supplies such as containers, fertilizers, and stakes/trellis supplies.
  2. Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  3. Collaborate with growers to maintain quality standards.
  4. Inspect incoming materials, address quality concerns, verify shortages, and resolve discrepancies.
  5. Ensure proper coding of received materials.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Strong record-keeping and report creation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multitask.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Preferred: Horticultural knowledge of plants in landscape settings.
Additional Information:
  • Work schedule: 40-45 hours/week, up to 50 hours during peak seasons, including occasional weekends.
  • Seasonal travel to tradeshows and vendors in North-Central and North-Eastern regions.
  • Training period: 3 months to 1 year for onboarding and process familiarization.
Benefits:
  • Salary: $65,000 base
