The Borough of Hanover, PA is seeking a Laborer for its Public Works Department. This entry-level role performs residential refuse collection, manual loading into a compacting truck, and supports general maintenance.

Training toward CDL is provided; duties rotate between refuse collection and driving once licensed. Requires high school diploma; no prior experience required; 40-hour week, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm; union AFSCME Blue.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Experience: None.
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Vehicle Operator's License.

Responsabilités

• Perform manual labor for residential refuse and recycling collection, including lifting and loading into trucks.
• Work as part of a refuse collection crew with safety practices around traffic and equipment.
• Assist with general public works maintenance and seasonal operations as assigned.
• Operate and assist with hand tools and small equipment as directed.
• Serve as a helper on power equipment and vehicles.
