Overview

Project Manager / Sr. Project Manager - Water & Wastewater Construction

Pay: $115,000 - $170,000

Bonus: Performance-based bonuses tied to company and project profitability

Type: Full Time, Exempt

Reports to: Director or VP

Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to lead teams on challenging water infrastructure construction projects? This position focuses on water and wastewater treatment facilities (including tanks, towers, and pump stations) and offers the chance to work on projects that improve critical infrastructure.

Who You Are

You are passionate about construction and career growth. You excel at managing complex timelines, budgets, and contracts while leading teams toward successful project delivery. You're highly organized, tech-savvy (Microsoft Project, Procore), and value quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Experience includes water/wastewater treatment facilities or similar large-scale projects involving mechanical equipment, large HVAC systems, heavy civil work, instrumentation, and complex electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage construction projects from planning to closeout.
  • Drive project scheduling, financials, and forecasting to ensure profitability.
  • Oversee subcontractor relationships and on-site logistics.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and requisitions accurately and on time.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with superintendents and field teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Utilize software tools such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft 365 for reporting and documentation.
  • Maintain full understanding of contract requirements and ensure compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365 tools (Excel expertise required).
  • Experience with Procore.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracting and project workflows.
  • Experience with large-scale projects such as water/wastewater plants, tanks, pump stations, or heavy civil work.
  • OSHA and safety certifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Schedule & Location

Monday - Friday, ~50 hours per week (occasional Saturday support).

Based in Hartford, CT area with periodic travel to regional job sites (CT and nearby states).

Partial remote flexibility possible for experienced candidates.
