Exyte is seeking a Conceptual Design Project Manager in Lyon to lead multidisciplinary engineering projects in the early phases, including master planning, programming, feasibility studies, and conceptual design for pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities. You will interface with clients from proposal through the start of detailed design, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Process Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry.
• Proven track record delivering pharmaceutical projects from conceptual design through construction.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and GMP regulations.
• Experience in international and multidisciplinary environments.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Structured, autonomous, and proactive working style with customer orientation.

Responsabilités

• Lead conceptual design projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities from proposal phase through early project execution.
• Develop facility concepts including process analysis, layout development, support functions, constructability assessments, scheduling, risk evaluation, and cost estimation.
• Support business development by preparing technical proposals and presenting solutions to clients.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage multidisciplinary project teams across engineering disciplines.
• Monitor project performance regarding scope, schedule, budget, quality, and project objectives.
• Ensure application of GMP requirements, internal tools, and best practices during execution.
• Build trusted client relationships and support stakeholders in promoting project initiatives.

As a Conceptual Design Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering projects during the early project phases, including master planning, programming, feasibility studies, and conceptual design. Acting as the primary interface to our clients, you will guide projects from the proposal stage through the start of detailed design, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

• Lead conceptual design projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities from proposal phase through early project execution
• Develop facility concepts including process analysis, layout development, support functions, constructability assessments, scheduling, risk evaluation, and cost estimation
• Support business development activities by preparing technical proposals and presenting solutions to clients
• Plan, coordinate, and manage multidisciplinary project teams across various engineering disciplines
• Monitor project performance regarding scope, schedule, budget, quality, and project objectives
• Ensure the application of engineering standards, GMP requirements, internal tools, and best practices throughout project execution
• Build trusted client relationships and support stakeholders in promoting project initiatives within their organizations

Show your expertise

• Degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry
• Proven track record delivering pharmaceutical projects from conceptual design through construction, either within a pharmaceutical company or an engineering consultancy
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and GMP regulations
• Experience in operational functions such as production, manufacturing, or quality is considered a strong advantage
• Demonstrated project management experience in international and multidisciplinary environments
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and influencing skills
• Structured, autonomous, and proactive working style combined with strong customer orientation
