We are adding new talent to our growing team and are seeking a full-time Project Manager, Civil/Environmental Engineer or Geologist/Hydrogeologist to deliver diverse projects related to site characterization, due diligence assessments, environmental investigations (soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion), regulatory interaction with state and USEPA, and field support during remedy implementation and construction. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex client problems and to be a change agent within the culture at any level or role.

Location: Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; or Greenville, SC — on-site at Haley & Aldrich offices.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the environmental group in the Carolinas area.
  • Collaborate with a passionate team supporting a diverse client base on challenging projects.
  • Understand client needs and develop strong client relationships.
  • Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.
  • Provide clear verbal and written communications, including client deliverables.
  • Effectively assign and manage work of others; demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring for junior staff.
  • Plan and direct environmental field observation and testing programs, including laboratory test selection and data evaluation.
  • Contribute to site investigations delineating contamination in soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil gas (Phase I/Phase II assessments).
  • Develop remedial alternative analysis assessments and remedial action work plans.
  • Prepare proposals, project reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions.
  • Develop an understanding of Haley & Aldrich's other practice areas and support marketing of additional services to existing clients.
  • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior in the Company Charter and with health & safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Geology/Hydrogeology.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in environmental regulations, due diligence, environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance, plus environmental construction support and professional services consulting experience.
  • Professional registration or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of hire.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to technical detail.
  • Experience managing all phases of environmental projects, including delegation of work, scheduling, cost, quality, and client relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in writing, reviewing, and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates; strong commitment to safety.
