Overall Purpose of the Job:

To provide New Build project management to the ship management team, coordinating with multiple stakeholders under the guidance of the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
  1. Define and agree on new build project boundaries and responsibilities following project management best practices.
  2. Develop project plans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for the new build/ship management workstream.
  3. Maintain comprehensive oversight, monitoring, and reporting on project progress at various stages.
  4. Identify, document, and communicate project risks, opportunities, and lessons learned.
  5. Participate in new build and project meetings, including domestic and international travel.
  6. Visit project sites regularly, involving domestic and international travel.
  7. Coordinate and liaise with stakeholder groups.
  8. Develop and maintain multi-stakeholder relationships, especially with customers.
  9. Keep project plans and documentation up to date, including stakeholder documentation requirements.
  10. Perform other duties as appropriate to the role.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in a commercial maritime environment with a Nautical (Deck), Engineering, or Naval Architecture background.
  • Management-level qualification in the relevant field (STCW II/2, III/2, or Degree Level).
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, preferably involving newbuild ships.
  • Certification in project management (PRINCE2 or equivalent).
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Resilience in demanding, changing environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across cultures.
  • Good organizational and planning skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
