Overview

Project Environmental Engineer | Regular Full Time

Education: Bachelor\'s Degree | Category: Engineering

Responsibilities
  • Field Coordination and Management: Set up work plans and protocols, supervise field activities, coordinate field personnel and related activities for implementing technically sound project plans. May also include field implementation activities.
  • Technical Data Review and Report Preparation: Coordinate collection and review of project data, reduce field data to evaluate future client needs and project requirements. Interpret data, develop, and finalize a report for Project Manager\'s review documenting findings and remediation recommendations.
  • Project Management: Monitor and review individual task schedules, budgets, and client invoicing to ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements to complete project work.
  • Staff Mentoring and Training: Participate in developing junior staff and collaborate with senior management to grow as a consultant and leader of the firm.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years in the environmental consulting industry with demonstrated progression in technical site investigation/remediation and task management.
  • Proficient in designing field programs and managing projects and associated field activities — scheduling, coordination of tasks, budgeting, subcontractor negotiation/management.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and managing field implementation of common remedial technologies/approaches designed by Senior/Principal level professionals; supporting Senior/Principal professionals with conceptual and detailed remedial design work.
  • Demonstrated task/project management skills; intermediate data evaluation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills; experience with common technical protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to support the technical growth of staff through direct hands-on interactions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position works in the field as well as in the office. In the field, candidate will work independently or lead a larger team at exterior project sites such as industrial/brownfield facilities, monitoring wells, treatment systems, and construction projects to perform sample collection, record operational parameters, and oversee subcontractors (e.g., drillers, heavy equipment operators, truckers). Field activities require driving to project sites and moving outdoors in various terrains, in adverse weather, and occasionally for extended or irregular hours. Work involves use of hand-held monitoring instruments, water sampling equipment, and lifting/carrying objects; the office is primarily stationary using a computer and keyboard/mouse.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary Range: $78,000 - $88,000. This range reflects Roux\'s good faith belief at posting time for this position and location. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. This position is eligible for performance bonuses based on individual performance and firm profitability.
