Job summary

Nomad Digital is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Paris-based Engineering team, coordinating the technical delivery of network and telecom projects from design to deployment and troubleshooting. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Engineering Manager and engage with clients to ensure successful outcomes.

The role requires 3+ years in IP networking, Linux, and configuring network devices (switches, routers, access points). Occasional international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN and VLAN IP planning.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal teams with the project manager to meet timescales.
• Interact with clients to determine requirements and present results.
• Produce high‑level design from BID proposals and finalize during project.
• Create project documents including design, integration, test, configuration, training and handover materials.
• Define and review configuration to match design objectives with support from the team.
• Troubleshoot issues; act as 3rd line support; coordinate other internal teams.
• Manage handover to client or in‑house support with training.

Overview

Nomad Digital has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Paris, France. Working closely with the Project Manager and Engineering Manager, you will coordinate the technical delivery of projects, from solution design and documentation through to implementation, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and engage with clients where required, ensuring successful project outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of IP networking, wireless technologies, and Linux platforms, along with at least three years of hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices such as switches, routers, and access points. Experience with satellite communications is an advantage.

Occasional extended international travel may be required for certain projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work in a team with the project manager to coordinate the internal teams and ensure all deliverables are delivered within the specified timescales.
• Client interaction to determine requirements, agree on solutions, review agree on test plans and present results.
• High level design from the BID technical proposal.Finalise design during project
• Create project documents in‑line with requirements and planning:
  • Documenting the design, including
  • Integration documents in case third party solutions have to be

  • Configuration-, training- and installation

• Responsible for defining and reviewing configuration to match the design objectives, with the support of internal team
• Responsible for troubleshooting in case of issues, both by own investigation and by coordinating other internal teams or Can act as 3rd line support to internal teams.
• Managing the handover to client or in‑house support staff including training.

Qualification Requirements

Essential

• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN and VLAN IP planning.
• User knowledge of Linux.

Desirable

• Knowledge of Mobile data networks, and general technical hybrid Telecom & IT experience.
• Knowledge of certification requirements for railway.
• Linux REDHAT certified or Debian certified.
• Degree level in Electrical / Electronic / IT / Computing Engineering or a related subject.
• Understanding of IT/Telecom Operations and Maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of antenna design and antenna placement. RF Telecom knowledge.

Experience Requirements

Essential:

• At least 3 years hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting various network devices including switches, routers, and access points.
