Program Leader Innovation

Senior Process / Chemical Engineer

Mission

Development of new technologies and improvement of existing practices related to the development and manufacturing of synthetic peptides & oligonucleotides and associated intermediates, starting materials, and reagents.

This position is part of the innovation team of the PolyPeptide Group.

Reports directly to the Global Director of Innovation & Technology of PolyPeptide Group.

Main Tasks

1. Manage innovation projects for developing new technologies and improving existing practices used in the development and production of synthetic peptides and oligonucleotides.
2. Develop and integrate new practices and technologies.
3. Gather needs from internal customers (development, production, analytics), monitor market trends and scientific literature, and identify opportunities to enhance operational performance.
4. Proactively identify innovation opportunities, propose new solutions and services to improve performance over existing practices.
5. Lead innovation programs aligned with the group's strategy, setting objectives, coordinating activities, and utilizing internal and external resources.
6. Participate in innovation projects, contributing with specific expertise within multidisciplinary teams.
7. Oversee subcontracted innovation activities and external collaborations, define project scopes, monitor progress, and analyze results to maximize value creation.
8. Deploy innovation results across Group sites to optimize implementation and ROI, supporting local teams in deployment and sharing best practices.
9. Promote innovation internally and externally through oral and written communication.
10. Collaborate closely with the Global Innovation team, leveraging expertise in peptide chemistry, downstream processes, analytics, and other areas to develop optimal solutions.

Qualifications

Competencies:

• PhD in Process or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience in green chemistry development.
• Basic understanding of pharmaceutical constraints (GMP).
• Experience in peptide and oligonucleotide synthesis.
• Strong skills in organic chemistry.

Experience: Ideally 5 years in an R&D or engineering environment.
