Job description
We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC in Doha, Qatar, for a:
Production Technician
Job Purpose:
- Operate process and utility equipment, wells, pipelines, etc., safely and efficiently, following operating procedures and guidelines.
- Monitor and control all oil, gas production, and utility systems to meet production and environmental targets.
- Participate in offshore emergency response to minimize harm to personnel, environment, and assets.
- Contribute to risk assessments to identify hazards, implement mitigations, and reduce risk.
Main duties include:
- Assist the Production Supervisor in delivering core business activities safely.
- Act as Permit Authority to ensure work complies with Permit to Work procedures.
- Analyze and report on production volumes, opportunities, and risks to improve performance.
- Provide leadership to ensure production targets are met and volumes maximized.
- Promote safety, trust, respect, and collaboration within the team.
- Encourage cost consciousness and embed a strong cost culture.
- Foster an incident-free environment through proactive safety culture.
- Participate in health and safety campaigns and adhere to safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with operating procedures to maintain safety and plant integrity.
- Conduct chemical stock checks and optimize chemical injections.
- Isolate and secure equipment for maintenance activities.
Profile:
- Minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent).
- Driver certificate (A certificate) from a recognized institute.
- Experience with seatrax pedestal cranes, Liebherr, hydro lift, or similar equipment.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years offshore in oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Good interpersonal, organizational skills, and computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office.
