We seek a candidate who will differentiate our company from competitors. You will join Worldline, a company transitioning into a new era of payments, covering hardware, software, and services as tools for merchants to grow their business.

Part of the SRE team, your responsibilities will include automating and industrializing the database platform on our internal cloud. You will be part of a small team managing PostgreSQL as a service. After training on our products and services, you will work across various infrastructure layers, including storage systems and networks, providing a broad technical experience. Your focus will be on the infrastructure aspects of databases, not application-level concerns.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Maintain operational conditions.
• Daily operations management.
• Ensure Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR) is possible at any time on databases within predefined retention periods.
• Ensure service quality, including infrastructure and engine performance, availability, access, and high availability SLAs.
• Develop bug fixes and features for our Puppet and Ansible modules.
• Execute changes in production environments.
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS requirements.
• Document tools and processes.
• Be on duty 24/7 at least one week per month.
• Perform operations outside regular hours at least once a week.

Mandatory Skills

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Over 3 years of production experience with PostgreSQL 13, including clustering, engine tuning, streaming replication, backups, and PITR.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash; Python and/or Go preferred.
• Skilled in designing Service Level Indicators for proactive SRE management.
• Strong debugging, code optimization, and automation skills.
• Experience with cloud concepts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of DevOps best practices and CI/CD methodologies.
• Comfortable operating in Linux environments and working with multi-DC setups.
• Familiarity with CLI tools such as Git and Puppet.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills; rigorous and meticulous.
• Ability to work under high pressure, focusing on service and customer-centric solutions.
• Open-minded self-starter with a collaborative spirit and commitment to transparency.
• Awareness of current trends in database administration.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Pacemaker / Corosync.
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Ability to create metrics and dashboards with Grafana.
• Experience with ELK and/or Loki for log management.
• Experience managing both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Understanding network protocols such as IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, load balancing, clustering.
• Experience with Docker.
