Product Specialist

Your Role

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Product Specialist to drive efficiency and service excellence in the Compressed Biogas (CBG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) aftermarket business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, deployment, and optimization of our product offerings, ensuring technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Service Management:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the product line with in-depth knowledge of electrical design, components, and programming logic.
  • Provide technical support to field service teams, ensuring timely communication of product updates and service-related information.
  • Collaborate with Product company and engineering teams to provide input during product development, testing, and validation phases and service reviews.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, user manuals, and programming guides.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to internal teams.
  • Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, or embedded systems to meet specific customer needs.
  • Train field teams in collaboration with the Competence Manager to design and execute training programs for aftermarket engineers, dealer service personnel, and customers on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Analyse field complaints/feedback to suggest design improvements or software updates to the product company.
  • Represent field issues and identify solutions in Technical Coordination Meetings (TCM) and Product Quality Meetings (PQM). Implement end-to-end engineering solutions.
  • Manage warranty claims, track them in the Want database, and follow up with Product Companies (PC), vendors, and service providers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct product launches with demos, training, and customer interaction.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety and coding standards.

2. Operations Management:

  • Coordinate with Inventory Managers, Logistics teams, and PC to ensure the timely availability of spare parts for warranty orders, stock transfers, and ROC parts.
  • Drive efficiency improvement projects to optimize service operations.
  • Manage existing and new Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts, supporting the regional sales & service teams post-SAP implementation.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to service planners, ensuring efficient warranty handling, ROC management, and order booking.
  • Monitor and manage spare parts availability, equipment master data, and work-in-progress (WIP) aging reports.
  • Submit monthly reports to the Service Manager on technical issues, inventory status, indirect service costs, and customer satisfaction metrics.

3. Price Management:

  • Issue and manage spare parts price lists based on market conditions and business strategy.
  • Review warranty claims to ensure accurate submissions and recovery from the PC.
  • Develop spare part kits and provide guidance to the operations team for strategic stock management, particularly for new product development (NPD) projects.

4. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and technical teams, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, gather feedback, and work closely with local service teams to address concerns proactively.
  • Improve Net Promoter Score (NPS) by ensuring timely issue resolution and exceptional customer support.
  • Align with Atlas Copco’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values, ensuring adherence to Business Code of Conduct, Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) norms, and company policies.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

To succeed, you will need

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a technical role involving electrical systems and control programming.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.) and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Experience in programming languages like Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Python, or C/C++.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical schematics, panel design, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and customer-focused approach.
  • Ready to travel across India as and when required.
