Farnell, an Avnet company, is a global high-service distributor of technology products, services, and solutions for electronic system design, maintenance, and repair.

Our European Product team is currently recruiting for the role of Product Segment Leader. This role involves proactively managing our regional portfolio of Handheld & Environmental Testing products. It offers an opportunity to leverage your knowledge of electronic components and industrial equipment, working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

As the segment lead, you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, review product portfolios, oversee marketing and product training, and handle the end-to-end process of adding products to our online portfolio. You will also oversee profit and loss, manage new product introductions, existing products, and slow-moving inventory.

We seek someone passionate about this product range, capable of ensuring competitive pricing and marketing strategies, utilizing data analytics, and collaborating with internal teams like e-commerce to optimize product positioning.

What will you be doing?

  1. Developing and executing product strategies to meet sales, margin, asset management, and market share KPIs.
  2. Managing product lifecycle, including technology updates, franchise negotiations, range extensions, inventory decisions, and end-of-life planning.
  3. Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and managing business development plans to achieve KPIs and favorable commercial terms.
  4. Managing pricing strategies to ensure margin growth and price sustainability.
  5. Overseeing inventory health, including budgets, turnover, line fill, and excess management.
  6. Coordinating marketing programs, product strategy communication, sales training, and e-commerce development.
  7. Providing market insights to influence business success, including supplier market data and technology trends.
  8. Collaborating with Product Assistants on administrative tasks, prioritization, workflow, and content quality.
