Job summary

Mistral in Paris is seeking a Product Security Engineer to partner with product teams across the lifecycle, ensuring security is embedded from design to production.

You will lead threat modeling, reviews and risk assessments, define secure-by-default patterns, and help teams ship securely at high velocity. Join a distributed, AI-focused company and influence security practices, coaching engineers and advancing reusable security platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Product Security, Application Security or software engineering with a security focus.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture, distributed systems, APIs and cloud-native apps.
• Experience with threat modeling, architecture reviews and secure design assessments.
• Deep knowledge of authentication, authorization, cryptography, secrets management and data protection.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or TypeScript, with ability to review production code and build security automation.
• Experience with security testing techniques including manual review, pentesting, and bug bounty programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated Product Security partner for one or more product lines.
• Drive security across the product lifecycle from design to production deployment.
• Lead threat modeling, architecture reviews and risk assessments for new features.
• Define pragmatic security requirements and secure-by-default patterns.
• Review designs and code focusing on authentication, authorization, tenant isolation and data protection.
• Collaborate with engineering to remediate vulnerabilities from reviews and testing.
• Help improve reusable security platforms and SDLC security capabilities.
• Champion secure software engineering through coaching and security champion programs.
• Define Product Security metrics and improve security posture.
