Within the Corporate & Investment Banking division, the Global Transaction Banking Department focuses on transactional banking and Trade Finance activities for our large corporate and institutional clients. BBVA has been present in France for more than 100 years. Its activity is mainly directed at French large Corporate and Institutional clients. Within BBVA France, GTB Department mainly deals with Trade Finance and Working Capital solutions, addressing the needs of our clients in connection with their international activity import and export (guarantees, letters of credit, forfaiting…) but also accompanying their working capital requirements through a wide range of solutions (factoring, supply chain finance, securitization…).
GTB France has built a strong position with the main French clients thanks to a highly professional team able to address the specific needs of its clients and offer them a best in class quality of service. The new position is aimed at strengthening and structuring its strong development, taking advantage of the strong offer and expertise of BBVA in GTB products, with a special focus on the onboarding of new clients.

About the role
Originate, structure and execute trade finance transactions, offering to BBVA clients a wide range of standard trade finance instruments and customized solutions to cover clients’ import/ export financing needs.
Collaborate with the GTB Branch Manager in defining the business strategy, business plan and budget.
Identify and generate new trade finance business opportunities with current and prospect clients.
Identify and onboard French subsidiaries of multinational groups which are client of BBVA’s foreign network.
Visit and call existing and prospect clients proactively, occasionally accompanied by the Banker, offering them all the range of GTB products offered by BBVA.
Offer a comprehensive financial and technical advisory service adapted to the client’s financial profile and trade finance needs.
Conduct the analysis of the operation, defining the funding structure proposal.
Negotiate credit agreements with clients, other financial institutions and legal advisors. Define and negotiate the contract’s terms and conditions in collaboration with Legal.
Obtain the Risk approval. Register the proposal in the risk management tool and participate in different committees in order to defend the credit proposals.
Preparation and supervision of all documentation required for the deals closing and administration.
Close collaboration with the middle and back office units, especially with the local middle office teams for the guarantees administration and incidences management.
Generate recurrent income in order to meet the revenue targets that are set each year.
Liaise alongside with CIB product units for fostering products’ cross-selling and with CIB support units for the deal execution.
Register, modify and update customers’ business opportunities in the in-house client management tools and data sources.
Stay abreast of the specific regulatory and compliance framework that may affect the trade finance products.
Report to the GTB Branch Manager on a periodic and ad-hoc basis. Evaluate main performance indicators.
Qualifications
Master degree (preferably in Economics and Business Administration) CFA, MBA, MS or other specific Trade Finance training will be valued.
8-10 years of successful commercial experience in Trade Finance and Working Capital Solutions or Coverage with strong GTB focus preferably with large corporates and multinational companies.
Strong knowledge of the Trade Finance and WC products (guarantees, SBLCs, documentary credits, factoring, SCF…)
Strong commercial and communication skills.
Interest and appetite for prospection with the objective of gaining new clients.
Knowledge of the market and good understanding of the economy and of the needs of the clients.
Strong knowledge and proven commercial experience with Multinational clients.
Specific knowledge of the Financial Sponsors sector or of the Defense sector would be of interest.
Fluent in English, French and Spanish.
Soft skills: negotiation skills, team spirit, autonomy, adaptability.
