System Product Ownership
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision.
- Engage customers / end-users and understand their needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field and keep proximity to customer needs.
- Communicate the product vision and define squad goals.
- Facilitate internal and external customer demos with the team for direct feedback.
- Ensure squad success: write and review User Stories, including Acceptance Criteria.
- Accept or reject User Stories using the Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria.
- Prioritize product backlog items and maintain an updated backlog for the squad.
- Co-conduct market research and collect necessary data through studies, surveys, alpha/beta programs and onboard metrics to analyze and identify user needs.
- Remain available for the squad throughout the sprint.
- Interface with Group Functions and key stakeholders.
Qualifications / Profile
- You graduated with a Master of Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent university degree, with significant experience in your field.
- You have previous experience in project and/or product management (ideally as a Product Owner).
- You have already worked within an Agile team.
- You have strong business acumen and want to stay abreast of the latest innovations.
- You have a great understanding of customer needs.
- You are recognised as a team-player and enjoy collaborative work.
- You are a listener and an effective communicator.
- You are a storyteller.
- You are autonomous and know how to get your ideas adopted to improve your team\'s practices.
- You are open-minded and love to receive feedback from all stakeholders.
Competencies
- You know Agile frameworks, Scrum, Kanban, Lean (mastery of Jira, Rally or Redmine type tools) and have an Agile culture.
- You know how to develop a product vision based on your understanding of your field and customer needs (data modeling and object design principles like OOD and UML).
- You have substantial knowledge of System Engineering and can adopt a holistic approach to analyse a system and how parts interrelate over time.
- You understand requirements definition through performance analysis, trade studies, constraint evaluation and cost/benefit analysis.
- You can adopt Model Based Systems Engineering and see how it serves as a basis for architecture.
- You have notions of IVVQ (Integration/Verification/Validation/Qualification), RAMT (Reliability/Maintainability/Availability/Testability) and associated norms & standards.
- You are familiar with System Architecting requirements and related concepts: Architecture Vision, Operational/ System/ Technical Architecture, Migration Planning, Implementation Governance, Architecture Change Management.
- You have knowledge of software development (testing) and know how to apply configuration management.
- You can prioritize tasks according to value and manage your team\'s workload.
- You can simplify and break down complex problems in a functional area.
- You focus on customers and delivery by bringing quick results to users.
- You have experience with brand identity and experience management.
