Sweep is hiring an inspiring Engineering Manager, to guide our sustainability data management platform to new heights. Sweep maps climate and ESG data across an entire business to reduce carbon emissions, improve social and environmental performance, and create audit-ready reports to run the best sustainability programs. Ok, sounds promising. What will I be doing?

We're looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong technical background and a hands-on approach to lead one of our engineering teams. You will be responsible for collaborating with Product, Design, and Carbon / ESG Experts to help build our SaaS tool that allows companies to measure and track their Carbon and ESG data, set reduction goals and report on progress towards a cleaner future.

To be more specific, this includes :

• Be responsible for roadmap execution and delivery of projects with high quality
• Grow, coach, and develop a team of software engineers
• Recruit high-quality engineering talent for the team
• Help define the engineering culture and uphold the processes that will shape the future of the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to build a cutting-edge ESG data management platform.

That's just right for me. What do I need to bring?

Qualifications

• You have 5+ years of experience in management of software engineers
• You have 5+ years of technical industry experience
• You have software engineering experience with React / Typescript and Ruby on Rails (or similar frameworks)

Qualities

• Customer-focused and experience working on a product team, shipping products to end-users
• Significant experience building and operating critical high-scale systems
• Phenomenal management and team development skills : ability to set roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, help team members grow in their careers, and deliver results
• Good software engineering methodology : meaningful and deeply-rooted opinions about testing and code quality, ability to make sound quality / speed trade-offs
• Outstanding technical skills in engineering : Managers can lead from the front when the situation calls for it
