Wavo SAS in Lyon is hiring its first Product Manager to lay the foundations of the product organisation. You will own a concrete product scope within a squad still being built and work closely with the Founder & Product lead.

The role is highly hands-on, collaborating daily with the engineering team to frame problems, write specs, and drive delivery. You will shape the future product squads around Platform, Data, and Ops & Risk.

In this context, we are hiring our first Product Manager to lay the foundations of the product organisation alongside our Founder & Product lead.

What you will do

As a Product Manager at Wavo, you will play a central role in structuring and executing the product. You will work closely with Tanguy (Founder & Product), who owns the overall vision and long-term roadmap, and you will take ownership of a concrete product scope within a squad that is being built.

The product is already live and used, but the product organisation is entering a new structuring phase. You are joining at a key moment to help build the first product squad beyond the founder. Over time, we expect to form several distinct squads, notably around Platform, Data, and Ops & Risk. As the first PM, you will initially operate across a broader scope, with the opportunity to specialise over time on one of these axes and become its go-to owner.

This is a highly hands‑on role. You will work day‑to‑day with the engineering team to frame problems, prioritise work, write specs, drive delivery, and ensure shipped features meet business, operational and technical requirements. You will be responsible for pushing your scope forward, turning complex problems into concrete solutions, and maintaining a high bar for quality and robustness.

You will collaborate closely with Ops, Risk, Finance and Growth teams to understand their constraints, incorporate their needs, and continuously improve workflows, internal tools and product decisions. Because the product sits at the heart of Wavo’s operating model, your impact will be direct, visible and structurally important.

This role is for someone who enjoys building in an environment that is still evolving, taking ownership, and actively contributing to the creation of the first real product squad outside of the founder.

Profile we are looking for

• Meaningful experience in Product Management in a demanding tech environment (startup, scale‑up, B2B SaaS, fintech, or a product with high domain complexity)
• Strong interest in hands‑on, delivery‑oriented roles, working closely with engineering teams
• Ability to understand complex business and domain problems and translate them into clear, actionable product solutions
• Comfortable in a build phase where processes, tools and organisation evolve quickly
• Strong structuring, prioritisation and rigour in managing a product scope
• Strong collaboration skills with engineers, Ops teams and business stakeholders
• Interest in finance, data, risk or platform topics is a plus
• Motivation to join an ambitious team at a key moment in the product’s construction
• Based in Lyon or willing to relocate, as we believe in the value of in‑person collaboration (3 days per week).

Hiring process

• Initial call (30 min) with Adrien to understand your background and interest in the role
• Deep‑dive interview (1h) with Tanguy to discuss your product thinking, approach to the role and collaboration with engineers
• Take‑home case study (3h), followed by a review (1h30) with Julien (CEO) and Tanguy
• A reverse interview with PA & Maxence (Full Stack Engineers), where you ask all your questions
