Description du poste

Product Manager with strong communication, strategic and critical thinking skills?

The Digital Debt Service enables customers to manage and pay back any money owed to DWP. The current service and technology supports recoveries of £2.8bn a year and is used by several thousand agents. A replacement debt recovery system is currently in discovery and we expect to begin transitioning customers from the existing debt recovery system to the new system in a couple of years’ time.

The wider Debt Programme is being delivered by multi-functional teams, in varying stages of development. They are often complex and provide DWP with capability to meet transformational objectives.

As part of your role, you will be playing a part in the Digital Debt Management programme defining product strategy, producing product artefacts, and establish product centric ways of working and best practices across both current and future debt solutions.

As a Product Manager, you will drive the product teams for a large and complex part of our organisation, major programme or core service.

You will be as passionate about people as you are about products, leading teams to define, design and deliver your vision and realise the value for your users.

Please note - As part of the role, you may be required to travel regularly to the other digital hubs. The frequency of this will be discussed further should you be successful.

We are looking for Product Managers who can prioritise key decisions using data and insight to drive development and improvement but equally who can lead the team effectively and with confidence. An essential ask is the ability to be able to flex and pivot to the needs of the user.

The role will be responsible for making evidenced based strategic and tactical product decisions and making key priority calls. You will be actively involved in developing the product strategy and setting the product vision, owning the product roadmap, and communicating product success to stakeholders but also defend controversial decisions about your product. You will also have experience of product management techniques.

While you will work independently, you’ll also be part of a more complex area with the support of a more senior Product Manager.

Additionally, you’ll be a part of our Product Community of Practice, where Product Managers across DWP Digital come together to share learning, discuss their development needs, gain support, and solve for common problems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in:

  • Understanding and translating the mission – You will need to understand the mission and communicate with teams and stakeholders how the problem you are solving contributes to achieving the aims of our service.
  • Product Management – Ensuring the team is designing and building products in the right way by following service standards as defined by Central Data and Digital Office (CDDO) and the internal DWP service standard assurance team.
  • Defining Product Goals and Metrics –Set clear goals and work with others to understand how you will measure success.
  • Agile - Ability to work in a fast paced, evolving, Scaled Agile environment and utilises an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery.
  • Ensuring user and business needs are at the heart of product development.
  • Driving consistency and quality.
