Job Description

Within the Trains’ Team at Orient-Express, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for establishing and tracking procurements for railway projects, managing both first and second rank suppliers.

Context:

Joining our railway projects team, the Procurement Manager will oversee purchases and supplier engagement, ensuring adherence to timelines, technical specifications, and budget. The role involves collaboration with technical and planning managers, as well as suppliers’ procurement managers, requiring strong organizational and communication skills.

This role offers a dynamic environment for a motivated professional eager to contribute to a prestigious project within a renowned group.

Responsibilities:

  1. Purchasing / Procurement:
  2. Track procurements, ensuring timely delivery
  3. Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers
  4. Set up and oversee supplier KPIs
  5. Identify and select suppliers for the panel
  6. Issue purchase orders and coordinate with quality and contract managers
  1. Lifecycle Management:
  2. Manage procurement activities for train components and spare parts
  3. Define product-supplier pairings and inventory levels
  4. Monitor orders, resolve issues, and ensure stock adequacy
  1. Exploitation & Maintenance:
  2. Establish contracts for services, ensuring operational and industrial feasibility

Qualifications:

  • Master's in engineering or commerce, with relevant background
  • Experience in manufacturing industry roles
  • Fluent in French and Italian; English is a plus
  • Strong management skills and negotiation experience
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and tools
  • Understanding of inventory management and legal contracts
  • Results-driven, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Willing to travel on short notice

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of railway sector and standards
  • Experience in projects over €500 million and in luxury industry
  • Experience with intellectual property procurement
