A leading company involved in a Nuclear Fusion reactor project is seeking a Procurement and Supply Chain Responsible. This role includes managing procurement services and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services for major engineering projects. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and at least 2 years of experience in similar positions, ideally within international engineering environments, with the ability to communicate in English and potentially other languages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in large international engineering projects preferred.
  • Fluent in English (minimum B2), Spanish and/or French a plus.

Position: Procurement and Supply Chain Responsible

Project: Nuclear Fusion reactor - ITER, META TCC2.

Responsabilities:

  • Management of procurement services to be provided to ensure that all the items will perform as required and will be available in time to meet the schedule,
  • Leading of all Procurement activities (Purchasing, Expediting, Inspection and Logistics) and the Supply Chain activities (Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing Implementation (in supplier) and Process Improvement Implementation),
  • Progress report documentation preparation,
  • Definition of strategy for the contractual and commercial management of several contracts,
  • Project Procurement activities Management and overall Coordination of Supply Chain Division
  • Development of procurement plans, strategies, instructions, procedures and standard document formats,
  • Interfaces with Project Team,
  • Coordination and reporting all of necessary information to the client,
  • The Procurement Manager together with the Supply Chain Team manage and/or support the following:
  • Procurement services of investment-related equipment (Task 1),
  • Award of technical services subcontracts,
  • Spare Parts sourcing,
  • Expediting,
  • Inspection,
  • Logistics,
  • Receipt of Goods at the facilities (confirmation of order completion),
  • Minor procurement at the facilities.
  • Follow up and activation of Procurement activities (Purchasing, Expediting, Inspection and Logistics) and the Supply Chain activities (Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing Implementation (in supplier) and Process Improvement Implementation),
  • Contractual and commercial management of contracts.

SPECIFIC TASKS

  • All phases of purchasing for materials, civil subcontract, technical services subcontracts, spare parts, services including Vendor List, inquiry, bidding, negotiation, commercial bid tabulation and evaluation, award recommendation, Purchase Order (PO) placement and commercial management including variations and Close-out,
  • Proactive expediting (including internal) of delivery schedule for ordered material, equipment and services, from order placement through to delivery of goods,
  • Including purchase specifications, bid evaluation, expediting, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), installation at the workshop, integration in the production line and maintenance. All of these services will be performed on behalf of Fusion for Energy (F4E), who will be the final owner of all the Special Purpose Tooling (SPT),
  • Close coordination with Inspection for workshop visits and reports and Construction for material receiving and resolution of Overage and Shortage and Damage Reports,
  • Ensure that all the Supply Chain and procurement activities, subcontract placement and goods are identified and monitored for on-time requisition, ordering and delivery, and in accordance with Project schedule and requirements. The following reports will provide a full overview of the status:
  • Requisition Progress Status,
  • Technical Services Progress Status.
  • Qualification of Subcontractors,
  • Logistics:
  • Organization of shipping and transportation materials and equipment along the manufacturing process,
  • Organization of shipping and transportation of goods as per Project needs,
  • Coordination of insurance, shipment, importation and customs clearance (if applicable), local transport and permits.
  • Subcontractors Follow-up:
    • Develop and maintain the relationships with the suppliers and subcontractors
    • Bidders identification and bidder list preparation,
    • Request for Quotation preparation and submission to identified bidders,
    • Commercial and Technical clarification meeting organization and management during tender stage,
    • Negotiation, award proposal preparation and internal management,
    • Purchase Order preparation and submission,
    • Kick off meeting organization,
    • Purchase orders follow up and activities expediting within different divisions,
    • Coordination among Supplier, engineering responsible and fabrication responsible,
    • Track Subcontract progress and check Technical Specification for the Contract along with, Responsible Engineer, meeting Schedule, Commercial Conditions and Documentation,
    • Coordinate and check Contractual Milestones fulfillment by Subcontractor,
    • FAT and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) attendance when required,
    • Purchase Order Variation negotiation, preparation, register and management,
    • Purchase Order Supplement negotiation with suppliers, preparation and submission,
    • Contractual and commercial communications linked to POs,
    • Supplier Documentation follow up and expediting (ADP),
    • Supplier documentation revision (Final Dossier),
    • Supply Chain documentation preparation for catalogue products contract,
    • Transport Checklist Documentation supervision,
    • Suppliers documentation follow up control,
    • Release Note preparation and delivery coordination between the parties,
    • Invoices revision with Supply Chain Manager and approval for all contracts to ensure the correct documentation preparation and submission,
    • Solve any potential Invoice conflict and track Payment.
    • Inspection:
    • Workshop inspection and tests from order placement to Inspection Release Certificates (IRC),
    • Inspection at main sub-vendors (as required) or other vendors as required by Project Management Unit or Project needs,
    • Coordinate other inspectors assigned to sub-vendors, as required.

    Education:

    Relevant Bachelor and/or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or any other relevant subject matter.

    Experience:

    At least 2 years of relevant profesional experience in a similar position, preferably in large international engineering project(s).

    Languages:

    English, minimum B2 (fluent),

    Spanish and/or French, a welcome plus.

    Location:

    Cadarache, near Aix-en-Provence (France), with the flexibility for some travel as per the project needs.
