This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Storage Cloud Engineer I in the European Union.

This role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and optimize cloud storage and infrastructure solutions in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance performance, scalability, and security across cloud services while contributing to automation, monitoring, and deployment initiatives. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will influence the architecture and reliability of private cloud environments, ensuring that mission-critical applications run efficiently. This is a fully remote role where your expertise in storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and automation will directly support both the product and operational excellence of global platforms.

Accountabilities

As a Principal Storage Cloud Engineer I, you will :

  • Design, build, and deliver cloud storage solutions, hosted services, and underlying software infrastructure.
  • Support and troubleshoot scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, backup, and restorations across multiple environments.
  • Assist with deployment, automation, and security of cloud servers hosting critical applications.
  • Architect automation solutions aimed at cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and operational consistency.
  • Review, document, and implement security policies on cloud infrastructure.
  • Maintain awareness of PaaS, IaaS, and related technology trends, and evaluate their impact on the product.
  • Coach and review the work of other team members while providing high-quality support to engineering teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in storage, cloud infrastructure, or systems engineering.
  • Deep understanding of the entire storage stack, from hardware to virtualization.
  • Strong knowledge of private cloud infrastructure, including data centers, hardware provisioning, asset tracking, configuration management (e.g., SaltStack), and Kubernetes administration.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, C, Go, and Rust.
  • Experience with FreeBSD and Linux server administration, including OpenZFS.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud deployment, monitoring, and secure environment practices.
  • Ability to manage projects independently with limited supervision.
Preferred
  • Experience in automation architecture development and maintenance.
  • Prior experience in deploying and managing scalable and secure cloud environments.
