The Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine is hiring for the position of Principal Cello. This role is part of the orchestra, which contributes to opera and ballet productions, as well as a wide symphonic season at the Auditorium de Bordeaux, alongside various chamber music projects in different venues. Rehearsals with a pianist are available on November 26, 2026, at Salle Sauguet, and candidates must register for this rehearsal by emailing [e-mail] by November 15, 2026.The audition will take place on November 27, 2026, at the Auditorium de Bordeaux. Candidates may be asked to perform excerpts from orchestral works during the audition process, which consists of three rounds. Each round is eliminatory, and candidates should be prepared to showcase their skills with various pieces, including concertos and orchestral excerpts. The jury may also assess candidates' ability to work collaboratively in an ensemble setting during interviews following the audition rounds.Accompaniment will be provided, but candidates have the option to bring their own pianist if they prefer.
