Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Principal Biostatistician provides strategic and broad statistical support within a cross-functional team, offering expertise in study design, protocol development, sample size and power calculations, statistical analysis methodology, and regulatory documentation, primarily for Ipsen’s Oncology assets. Responsibilities include study design, data review, programming, oversight of external vendors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as CDISC. The role requires acting independently as the statistical subject matter expert, with a deep understanding of advanced statistical methodologies and innovative trial designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop clinical trials with innovative statistical methodologies.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, regulatory affairs, and external partners.
• Engage in discussions with key opinion leaders regarding study design and evaluation from a statistical perspective.
• Make well-informed decisions in ambiguous situations, prioritize tasks, and lead teams accordingly.

Knowledge & Experience

• Experience in oncology clinical development and regulatory submissions.
• Strong knowledge of statistical theory, methods, and programming (SAS, R).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and intercultural skills.
• Proactive problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Understanding of GCP, ICH, CDISC regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant industry experience, or Ph.D. in Biostatistics/Statistics with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Language

• English proficiency required.
