Job summary

Moody's is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead secure, scalable agentic AI capabilities powering the Insurance Life platform. You will shape architecture for the AXIS Cloud AI orchestration layer and work hands-on with the engineering team to drive production-grade AI systems.

You will collaborate across architecture, product, security, actuarial and compliance to align AI solutions with regulatory requirements and platform strategy, while mentoring teams and advancing responsible AI

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience building enterprise AI apps on large language models
• Experience designing multi-agent architectures
• Knowledge of MCP, tool registries and governance
• Hands-on with LangChain/LangGraph/Langfuse
• Proficiency in Python; cloud-native tech incl. Docker, Kubernetes
• Production AI systems experience incl. observability and cost mgmt
• Ability to influence technical direction and communicate architecture
• Expertise in AI across governance and responsible adoption
• Leadership in AI risk management and ethics

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, architecture, development and delivery of secure, scalable AI capabilities for the Insurance Life platform
• Co-define and drive architecture and roadmap for AXIS Cloud AI orchestration layer
• Contribute to design, implementation and delivery of the AI orchestration platform
• Drive key technical decisions and translate direction into engineering solutions
• Prototype emerging AI technologies and patterns for production
• Develop end-to-end vertical solutions delivering customer value
• Design secure, transparent AI systems with security middleware and audit
• Modernize existing LLM apps onto a shared orchestration layer
• Deploy and operate AI services in Kubernetes with observability and cost controls
• Collaborate with architecture, product, security and compliance stakeholders
• Promote adoption of agentic AI patterns across teams
• Provide leadership via reviews, mentoring and best practices
