Job Title: Power Specialist
Location: Remote (France or Algeria)
Contract Type: Permanent

Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced professionals in the power generation industry to join a global leader in insurance risk consulting. This role supports the risk assessment and underwriting process for high-value energy assets worldwide. You will receive extensive onboarding and technical training over a 6-month programme, making this ideal for experienced engineers looking to transition into a client-facing, consultancy-based role.

Interview Process
Two-stage process:

  1. Written assessment

  2. Technical interview and presentation (scheduled for July)

Key Responsibilities

  • Survey and assess a global portfolio of power generation assets

  • Produce technical reports to support insurance underwriting decisions

  • Analyse process safety and recommend continuous improvement actions

  • Provide guidance on loss prevention and best practice implementation

  • Calculate estimated maximum loss (EML) scenarios using in-house software

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including brokers, underwriters, and claims professionals

  • Support client tenders, renewals, and proposal submissions with technical input

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Extensive operational or technical experience in conventional power plants (thermal, gas, combined cycle, etc.)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Fluency in French is essential

  • Prior experience in risk engineering, insurance, or consultancy is advantageous but not required
