Job Description

We are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join the Propulsion team. Our team is composed of experienced professionals in plasma physics, mechanics, material science, electronics, and fluidics. You will be responsible for carrying out the design, prototyping, and testing of the power electronics of our propulsion system as well as our test setups. You will integrate your expertise with other electronics engineers.

Your main tasks will be:

• To design the power electronic sub-system and its interfaces considering the system constraints.
• To perform tests on prototypes and engineering units you conceived.
• To be involved in qualification testing of electronics.
• To be the point of contact for the electrical design of different systems and/or sub-systems. This includes ensuring compatibility with other sub-systems, writing the Electrical Interface Control Documents, and other documents required for hardware qualification or project purposes.
• To contribute to the harmonization between electronics hardware and software.

You will join the Technology Team and report to the Head of Technology, who in turn reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Preferred Experience

Exotrail is looking for a power electronics engineer with hands-on experience in the design of electronics, from initial design to production and testing. Typically, the candidate has worked on satellite projects and has experience in designing electronics for space applications.

The candidate must have the following skills/background:

• More than 5 years of experience in power electronics.
• Knowledge of DC/DC converters and other topologies.
• Knowledge of software for electronics design, such as Altium, KiCad, LTSpice.
• Knowledge of communication protocols for satellite applications (such as SPI, CAN, RS485).
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Autonomous, rigorous, and detail-oriented.
• Diplomatic, a good communicator, and responsive.
• Curious, proactive, and able to propose ideas on responsible subjects.
• Motivated, adaptable within a young and ambitious team, with a genuine interest in space.
• Pragmatic, willing to take risks, and accountable.
