The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in a multidisciplinary research project aimed at developing fluorescent probes for the enzymatic activity of one of the DNA repair enzymes involved in cancer chemoresistance, and testing their applications in vitro and in cell cultures.
Organic synthesis.
Absorbance and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Biochemical studies (electrophoresis gels, enzymatic assays).
Cell culture and fluorescence microscopy.
The host team, “New Synthetic Methods for the Chemistry–Biology Interface,” is part of the CNRS UMR8601 unit, “Laboratory of Pharmacological and Toxicological Chemistry and Biochemistry,” located at Université Paris Cité (Paris 6th arrondissement). The team's research interests span a wide range of topics in synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology, all rooted in molecular innovation. Our work involves exploring new chemical spaces and developing synthetic tools or analytical methods to study and/or modulate biological regulatory mechanisms.
The proposed position is part of a multidisciplinary project funded by AVIESAN, focused on developing chemical tools to study and overcome chemoresistance linked to DNA repair in cancers. This project is conducted in collaboration with teams at Université Paris-Saclay (Orsay) and the Institut du Cerveau (Paris).
- Strong experience in organic chemistry, preferably in heterocyclic chemistry or nitrogenous base analogs.
- Proficiency in molecular characterization techniques (NMR, MS, HPLC, UV/Vis, fluorescence).
- Solid knowledge of molecular photophysics.
- Strong experience in biochemical techniques: electrophoresis gels, enzymatic assays.
- Hands-on experience with cell culture (cancer cells) and fluorescence microscopy.
- Organizational and adaptability skills.
- Excellent command of English (reading, listening, and writing protocols and articles).
- Monitoring of health and safety regulations and ensuring their implementation in collaboration with the Prevention Assistant.
