Offer Description

The position involves structural characterization of enzymes involved in chondroitin sulfate biosynthesis using cryo-electron microscopy, including:

1. Expression of recombinant proteins in human HEK293F cell lines
2. Purification and biophysical characterization of enzymes
3. Structure determination by single-particle cryo-EM
4. Training and supervision of PhD students

The institute is located on the Grenoble Science Park and is a key player in the field of structural biology, supporting research, technical platforms, and training in a multicultural environment. The successful candidate will join Rebekka Wild's team in the 'Structure and Activity of Glycosaminoglycans' group, focusing on understanding enzyme mechanisms in GAG biosynthesis through biochemical and structural biology approaches.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Detailed knowledge of glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis and function
• Experience in protein purification from mammalian expression systems
• Autonomy in cryo-EM grid preparation and screening
• Solid expertise in cryo-EM data analysis
• English proficiency at level C1 (written and oral)
