Job summary

L'École normale supérieure, Département d'Études Cognitives, Paris, recrute un post-doctorant en sciences cognitives pour mener des recherches sur le langage et la communication chez des patients adultes neurologiques.

Le poste implique le développement et l’évaluation d’outils de rééducation pragmatique et la collaboration avec l’équipe de Charlotte Jacquemot et Dynseo. Le poste débute le 1er janvier 2027 et est à temps partiel.

Qualifications

• PhD en sciences cognitives avec expertise en speech-language pathology.
• Expérience dans la gestion, évaluation et rééducation des troubles du langage chez l’adulte.
• Maîtrise de l’anglais et du français à l’écrit et à l’oral.

Responsibilities

• Diriger et mener des activités de recherche sur le langage et la communication avec des patients adultes neurologiques.
• Développer de nouveaux tests pour l’évaluation des troubles pragmatiques.
• Élaborer des exercices de rééducation pour les troubles pragmatiques.
• Administrer les tests et les exercices auprès des patients.
• Collaborer avec Dynseo pour le développement numérique des outils cognitifs.
• Collecter et analyser les données; rédiger des articles scientifiques.

Offer Description

Leading and conducting scientific research activities on language and communication with neurological adult patients :

Development of assessment and rehabilitation tools for pragmatic disorders in patients following brain injury or atrophy (stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative diseases, sickle cell disease)

Administration of tools and evaluation of their relevance for patient care

Liaison with the company responsible for digitising tools developed in paper/pencil format

Activities carried out within the Interventional Neuropsychology Laboratory (NPI), a joint research unit (INSERM, UPEC, ENS) in Charlotte Jacquemot's team.The NPI laboratory is located on two sites:

• The Department of Cognitive Studies (DEC) at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris.

The distinctive feature of Charlotte Jacquemot's team lies in combining clinical research to improve the care of patients with cognitive disorders with fundamental research in cognition

Activities may be distributed between the Henri Mondor Hospital (neurology department), the IMRB (UPEC) and the NPI (École Normale Supérieure).

Main activities:

Leading and conducting scientific research activities on language and communication with neurological adult patients:

• Scientific monitoring of pragmatic disorders and tools for their speech-language management
• Development of new tests for the assessment of pragmatic disorders
• Development of new exercises for the rehabilitation of pragmatic disorders
• Administration of tests and exercises with neurological patients: vascular in the acute and/or post-acute phase (post-vascular consultation…), neurodegenerative, traumatic and patients with sickle cell disease
• Data collection and analysis
• Writing scientific articles
• Improvement and evaluation of developed tools (assessment tests and rehabilitation exercises)
• Liaison with Dynseo, the company responsible for the digital development of cognitive tools

Skills/Qualifications

Required qualifications and experience:

PhD in cognitive sciences with expertise in speech-language pathology, to lead a project on the rehabilitation of pragmatic disorders in adult patients with neurological conditions.

Required experience in the management, assessment and rehabilitation of language and communication disorders in adult patients

Knowledge:

Knowledge of speech-language pathology and the symptomatology of language and communication disorders in neurological diseases and sickle cell disease

Experience in managing patients with language and communication disorders, particularly pragmatic disorders
