Join the Malouf Team at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) in Illkirch, France, as a Postdoctoral Fellow to research the role of long non-coding RNA in immune regulation and response to immunotherapy. We seek highly skilled and motivated candidates with expertise in molecular biology to join our multidisciplinary team of molecular biologists, physician-scientists, and bioinformaticians.
The Malouf Lab focuses on uncovering genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying renal cell carcinomas, especially rare and treatment-resistant subtypes. Our research employs functional genomics, epigenetics, and single-cell technologies to understand tumor heterogeneity and therapy response. Recent projects include identifying biomarkers for immunotherapy response using epigenetic profiling, RNA sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics. We are particularly interested in how epigenetic changes, the stromal microenvironment, and endogenous retroviruses influence treatment outcomes.
We have identified several long non-coding RNAs associated with therapy response and resistance. Our team conducts gain- and loss-of-function studies to validate their roles in tumor biology and investigates their molecular pathways through mechanistic in vitro and in vivo studies, alongside analysis of patient-derived tumor samples obtained via collaborations.
The project is based at IGBMC, a leading research center in France, jointly operated by Inserm, CNRS, and the University of Strasbourg. The institute offers a vibrant environment with access to advanced scientific services and technological platforms, including genomics, imaging, proteomics, and animal facilities. Located within the Parc dInnovation near Strasbourg, IGBMC fosters collaborative research, innovation, and training for future biomedical scientists.
