Job summary

Université de Bordeaux invites applications for a Post-Doctoral researcher in coastal dynamics and climate science to study seasonal to decadal variability of coastal indicators in metropolitan France as part of the IRICOT project. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on linking climate modes to coastal hazards.

You will analyze water levels, integrate observations and models, and contribute to publications and climate services for the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.

Qualifications

• PhD required in coastal dynamics, oceanography, climate science, or related field.
• At least 2 years post-PhD experience with physical oceanography, coastal processes, or atmospheric science.
• Autonomous, rigorous, organized; able to take initiative and collaborate.
• Strong reasoning, analysis, synthesis, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Excellent scientific communication in English; able to present results.

Responsibilities

• Identify links between climate variability and coastal hazards on Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.
• Analyze water level variability from tide gauges, simulations, and satellite data.
• Cross-reference retrospective simulations and observations to characterize mechanisms.
• Publish results and contribute to climate services.
