CNRS’s Laboratory of Structural Biology of the Cell invites applications for a Researcher in the Synthetic Biosystems team to develop and experimentally characterize RNA-peptide systems. The role focuses on self-organisation, molecular reactions, and differential persistence within MICROFLUIDICS under environmental constraints.

You will design, produce and purify RNAs/peptides, characterize coacervates by microscopy and quantitative analyses, and study ligation or templating reactions.

Qualifications

• RNA biochemistry and molecular biology; RNA-peptide interactions; liquid-liquid phase separation and coacervates; kinetics and thermodynamics of molecular interactions.
• Nucleic acid preparation and purification, electrophoresis, ribozyme assays, fluorescence microscopy and image analysis, sequencing and quantitative data processing.
• Experimental rigour, autonomy, teamwork, scientific writing in English.

Responsabilités

• Design, produce and purify functional RNAs and associated peptides.
• Form and characterise RNA-peptide coacervates by microscopy, biophysical measurements and quantitative analyses.
• Study ligation, recombination, amplification or templating reactions within the compartments.
• Measure the effects of salinity, dilution and dehydration-rehydration cycles on the stability and reorganisation of coacervates.
• Analyse data, document results and contribute to reports, publications and meetings of the PEPR Origins programme.
