Job summary

CNRS LPSC Grenoble invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the DUNE ProtoDUNE-VD analyses and development of reconstruction tools. The role focuses on characterizing detector performance, updating sensitivity studies, and preparing fitting frameworks for initial data.

Strong coding skills and a PhD in particle physics are essential. We welcome experience with deep learning and prior neutrino oscillation work.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in particle physics or closely related field.
• Experience with data analysis and associated statistical methods.
• Strong programming skills (C++, Python, ROOT, etc.).
• English proficiency (written and spoken) is required.
• Experience with deep-learning techniques and libraries welcome.
• Past experience in neutrino oscillation and/or LAr TPC experiment welcome.

Responsibilities

• Analyze ProtoDUNE-VD prototype data (beam and cosmics).
• Characterize ProtoDUNE-VD and estimate performance.
• Develop event reconstruction tools.
• Contribute to a HPC fitting framework development.
• Contribute to sensitivity studies for DUNE's long-baseline analysis.
• Possible involvement in assembly/tests of charge readout planes and far detector construction.
