Institut Imagine in Paris seeks PhD‑level researchers to investigate mitochondrial membrane dynamics and mtDNA regulation. You will work on IMM quality control, membrane remodeling, and mtDNA biology using advanced microscopy, proteomics, and biochemical methods.

The role is a two-year fixed-term training programme with potential renewal, offering a collaborative international environment and English communication requirements.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD in biological sciences or a related discipline.
• Strong track record in research relevant to proposed projects.
• Experience in organelle and mitochondrial biology, membrane dynamics and membrane contact sites, mtDNA biology, and cutting-edge microscopy is essential.

Responsabilités

• Apply cutting‑edge microscopy approaches, combined with biochemical and molecular analyses, to investigate IMM quality control and mtDNA dynamics.
• Determine how mitochondrial membrane remodelling regulates mtDNA distribution, maintenance and dynamics.
• Establish the relevance of these processes to human disease.
• Combine advanced microscopy, proteomics and biochemical approaches to identify proteins at the interface between Golgi‑derived vesicles and mitochondria.
• Characterise those proteins and how they control membrane contact sites and mitochondrial dynamics, elucidating their relevance to mtDNA dynamics.
