IMT Mines Alès invites applications for a 24-month fixed-term assistant lecturer research position affiliated with the Centre for Materials of Mines Alès (C2MA). The project is part of the PEPR Bioproductions WALLMAT and focuses on nanostructured bio-based materials, with emphasis on processing, characterisation, and sustainable manufacturing.

The candidate should hold a PhD in materials science or a related field and have experience in polymer processing and mechanical testing.

Qualifications

  • PhD in materials science, polymer engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in materials processing and mechanical characterization.
  • Knowledge of plant biology and/or plant biomechanics.

Responsabilités

  • Contribute to the development of nanostructured bio-based materials inspired by the hierarchical architecture of plant secondary cell walls.
  • Design and optimise sustainable manufacturing processes for the production of nanostructured materials.
  • Establish relationships between structure, manufacturing process and properties.
  • In-depth characterisation of the materials obtained, with a focus on mechanical properties, notably through tensile, flexural and dynamic mechanical analyses.
