Saint Antoine Research Centre in Paris is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study adipose tissue pathophysiology in the context of HIV infection and aging. The project focuses on how two ART regimens affect adipose tissue distribution and function, using patient samples, transcriptomics, and preclinical models.

The successful candidate will analyze biopsies, perform histology and RNA-seq analyses, and contribute to publications under senior investigators Claire Lagathu and BFève.

Qualifications

• Ph.D in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related field.
• Proficiency in standard molecular and cell biology techniques (immunofluorescence, western blot, qPCR, imaging) is required.
• Familiarity with high-throughput sequencing approaches (RNA-seq) is a plus.
• Interest in pathophysiology of cardiometabolic disorders would be appreciated.
• Expertise in adipose tissue phenotyping (histology, immunofluorescence) would be appreciated.
• Background in bioinformatics, image analysis software would be appreciated.
• Fast learner, critical thinking, positive attitude, strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability to new data and questions.
• Skills for both teamwork and independent work.
• Strong organizational skills, personal motivation and creativity.
• Presentation of the work in lab meetings and conferences.
• Supervising Master students.

Responsabilités

• Analyze adipose tissue biopsies as part of the metabolic sub-study of the ELDORADO trial.
• Analyze adipose tissue morphology (pathology and histology).
• Compare gene expression using transcriptomic and RNA-seq analyses to decipher weight gain mechanisms.
• Validate key findings using preclinical models.
