A leading cancer research institute in Paris is seeking a motivated candidate for a full-time bioinformatics position within a dynamic team. The role involves analyzing ‘omics’ datasets and engaging in collaborative research efforts. Candidates must have proven expertise in bioinformatics, with a background in cell biology being a plus. This position is a fixed-term contract lasting 18 months, offering comprehensive support and development opportunities.
Institut Curie is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a Hospital group and a Research Center with over 1000 employees and a strong international presence.
The Research Center aims to develop basic research and apply the knowledge gained to improve cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics, bridging basic research and innovation for patient benefit.
The Chromatin Dynamics Team (UMR 3664-CNRS), led by Dr. G. Almouzni, explores how chromatin organization—from histone variants and nucleosomes to chromosomal landmarks and nuclear architecture—affects cell physiology. The team is involved in the France 2030 funded program «Cellular identities and destinies» (PEPR Cell-ID), focusing on pediatric brain cancer research.
Our research aims to understand the interactions between histone chaperones and variants, and their role in chromatin state regulation during normal development, differentiation, and cancer. We utilize various biological models and experimental approaches, including biochemistry, imaging, and omics techniques.

The objective is to analyze bulk, single-cell, and spatial ‘omics’ datasets to study transcription, RNA processing, replication, chromatin factor distribution, and 3D chromatin organization using methods like RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, HiC, and Repli-Seq in different experimental settings.
Motivated candidates will work within a team of biologists and bioinformaticians, engaging in daily interactions. This collaborative environment is crucial for hypothesis testing and experimental validation of biological mechanisms. Proven expertise in bioinformatics is mandatory; experience in cell biology is a plus.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic, international team at the Institut Curie in Paris, with access to advanced technologies, multidisciplinary approaches, training programs, and career development opportunities.
All opportunities are open to people with disabilities.
